BFA Emphasis in Acting for Stage & Screen Course Requirements

A Major in Theatre Arts for the BFA Emphasis in Acting Degree requires 129 total semester hours, including 76 hours of theatre arts and dance courses. The following classes are required of all BFA students:

WRIT 100 or 101 and Writ 102 or Liba (6 hours)
200-LEVEL ENGLISH LITERATURE COURSES (6 Hours)
BEHAVIORAL/SOCIAL SCIENCES (6 Hours)
HISTORY (HIS 101, 102 preferred; 6 Hours)
NATURAL SCIENCE (WITH LABORATORIES; 6-8 hours)
MATHEMATICS (from among college algebra, quantitative reasoning, or a more advanced mathematics course; 3 hours)

The emphasis in Acting for Stage & Screen requires 129 total semester hours, including the following theatre arts and dance courses:

In addition to the core curriculum and theatre arts requirements listed, the BFA with an acting emphasis requires elective hours chosen from any area, including theatre arts, to bring the total number of credits to 129 semester hours.

*Danc 200, 450, 455 may not be used for this requirement. Movement courses are Thea 314, 315, 332, 335, 337, 414, 415, 451, and 452. An additional 2 credits of combat may be applied toward this requirement.
