BFA Emphasis in Film Production Course Requirements

Computer Lab
The brand new Theatre Arts computer lab is the hub of our production program. The lab is equipped with 17 PC workstations loaded with Adobe CC software.

A Major in Theatre Arts for the BFA Emphasis in Film Production Degree requires 129 total semester hours, including 84 hours of film and theatre courses. The following classes are required of all BFA students:

WRIT 100 or 101 and Writ 102 or Liba (6 hours)
200-LEVEL ENGLISH LITERATURE COURSES (6 Hours)
BEHAVIORAL/SOCIAL SCIENCES (6 Hours)
HISTORY (HIS 101, 102 preferred; 6 Hours)
NATURAL SCIENCE (WITH LABORATORIES; 6-8 hours)
MATHEMATICS (from among college algebra, quantitative reasoning, or a more advanced mathematics course; 3 hours)

The film production emphasis requires 84 hours of film and theatre courses, comprising the following:

In addition to the core curriculum and theatre arts requirements, the emphasis in film production requires 9 hours of approved theatre arts electives and other elective hours (10-12) chosen from any area, including theatre arts, to bring the total number of credits to 129 semester hours.
