Ryan Dusek (BFA 2008)


Haley StrodeCongratulations to Ryan Dusek (BFA 2008) on his 2013 New York Innovative Theatre Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Lead Role for his portrayal of Eddie in The Rising Sun Performance Company's production of Sam Shepard's Fool for Love! In addition to his individual nomination, Ryan has also been nominated for Oustanding Ensemble as part of the cast of Fool for Love.

The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation was created to bring recognition to the great work being done in New York City's Off-Off-Broadway, to honor its artistic heritage, and to provide a meeting ground for this extensive community. The organization advocates for Off-Off-Broadway and recognizes the unique and essential role it plays in contributing to American and global culture.

In his time at the University of Mississippi Ryan performed in many Ole Miss Theatre productions including Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Mr. Maramalade and The Grapes of Wrath. Additionally, he performed with Oxford Shakespeare Festival for several seasons, playing such roles as Hotspur in Henry IV, Part One, Duke Orsino in Twelth Night, and appearing as Romeo in the 2007 production of Romeo & Juliet. Following his graduation with a BFA in Acting in 2008 from the University of Mississippi, Ryan received his MFA in Acting from the New School for Drama in New York City.

The 2013 New York Innovative Theatre Awards will be announced September 30, 2013.
